Luther will be back for series 3

BBC America has announced that Idris Elba will be starring in a new, third, series of Luther. It is expected to have four episodes. Elba plays Detective Chief Inspector John Luther, the near-genius detective struggling to cope with his own demons. The old team is back including Warren Brown as DS Justin Ripley, Dermot Crowley as DS Martin Schenk, Nikki Amuka-Bird as DS Erin Gary and Michael Smiley as Benny Silver. It's not clear whether the episodes will air this year or next. Ben Stephenson, Head of Drama for BBC1 had already confirmed this on 13th January.
